Small footprint.

DFW Water Polo collects the information needed to operate player matching: your name, email address, password hash, ZIP code, travel radius, broad date/time availability, game responses, optional pool suggestions, and basic security logs.

ZIP code

Your browser location is never requested. Your ZIP code is converted to an approximate ZIP-area coordinate so the site can display your travel radius and determine whether an approved pool is inside it. ZIP-area reference coordinates are cached separately from player accounts. When a ZIP code is not already cached, only that ZIP code is sent to the postal-code lookup service; your name and email are not included.

Locations

The Locations map uses your approximate ZIP-area center, your selected travel radius, and administrator-approved pool coordinates. It does not display or store your GPS location. The street-map background is loaded from OpenStreetMap with referrer information suppressed; your browser still connects to that map service to display the background. Pool suggestions remain pending until an administrator verifies and approves them.

Passwords

Passwords are stored only as one-way password hashes. Verification and password-reset links are represented in the database by one-way token hashes.

Email

Email is used for account verification, password recovery, game invitations, game status, and essential account communication. Player email addresses are not displayed to other players.

Administrators

Site administrators can manage player account status, approved pools, pool water-time schedules, pool suggestions, games, and notification delivery. The MVP does not provide public player profiles, chat, advertising, or sale of player data.
